OPUS Opus

Opus is the verified contribution layer of Adamantis. It prices useful work without pretending to price the human being.

Pronunciation

Opus

IPA: /ˈoʊ.pʊs/

Spoken: OH-puus

Adamantis pronunciation: verified work, craft, care, teaching and contribution.

Definition

Opus represents verified labor, time, skill, risk, care, repair, teaching, coordination and execution required to transform material reality into useful civilization.

Opus does not price a human being. Opus prices verified contribution so labor cannot disappear inside hidden extraction.

Opus Cost Equation

O = H × B × S × R × P + K + C + X

Opus cost equals verified hours multiplied by base rate, skill, responsibility and process multiplier, plus knowledge contribution, coordination burden and risk or hardship premium.

Equation Terms

O — Opus

Verified contribution cost

H — Hours

Verified time spent on useful work

B — Base Rate

Baseline Opus rate for the task or region

S — Skill

Multiplier for experience, precision and expertise

R — Responsibility

Multiplier for consequence, risk and accountability

P — Process

Multiplier for execution type or multiplication effect

K — Knowledge Contribution

Additional value from documentation, teaching or transferable knowledge

C — Coordination Burden

Additional burden for organization, planning and alignment

X — Risk or Hardship Premium

Additional value for danger, hardship or difficult conditions

Skill Multipliers

Basic labor — S = 1

Simple work with low specialization

Trained work — S = 1.2

Work requiring practice, care and reliable execution

Specialist craft — S = 1.5

Skilled work requiring craft, accuracy and experience

Engineer / verifier / auditor — S = 1.75

Technical, verification or trust-critical work

Master / dangerous work — S = 2

Rare skill, high consequence, dangerous work or strategic execution

Responsibility Multipliers

Low responsibility — R = 1

Failure has limited consequence

Normal responsibility — R = 1.15

Failure creates moderate cost or delay

Production-critical — R = 1.3

Failure can disrupt output, quality or delivery

Safety-critical — R = 1.5

Failure may create physical, health or infrastructure risk

Process Multipliers

Opus rewards contribution, but it distinguishes execution from multiplication.

Manual human labor — P = 1

Direct human work without major automation advantage

Machine / AI-assisted work — P = 0.8

Execution amplified by tools, machines or AI support

Education / teaching / training — P = 2.25

Knowledge transfer that increases the future capacity of others

Machine / AI Assistance

Machine and AI assistance reduce the direct labor-rate portion because execution is amplified by tools.

This does not make the work worthless. It means the human operator is credited for verified contribution while the system recognizes that machines carried part of the burden.

Standard process multiplier for machine or AI-assisted work: P = 0.80.

Education / Teaching

Teaching receives a higher multiplier because it creates future builders.

A good teacher does not only complete one task. A good teacher multiplies the future capacity of other people, nodes and communities.

Standard process multiplier for education, teaching or training: P = 2.25.

Example — Manual Specialist Work

H = 4 verified hours

B = 20 base rate

S = 1.5 specialist craft

R = 1.15 production-critical responsibility

P = 1.0 manual work

K = 10 knowledge contribution

C = 8 coordination burden

X = 5 risk premium

Labor Base: 138.00

Final Opus Cost: 161.00

Example — Machine / AI-Assisted Work

Same task, but with machine or AI assistance: P = 0.80.

Labor Base: 110.40

Final Opus Cost: 133.40

Example — Teaching / Training

Same verified time, but the work creates future capacity: P = 2.25.

Labor Base: 310.50

Final Opus Cost: 347.50
